教育方針

Policy

The founding principle of Naragakuen Tomigaoka is to encourage students to reach their full potential and make the most of themselves by practicing three core values: cherishing the spirit of harmony, nurturing the ability to live a full and robust life, and developing the ability to see matters from a scientific view point.

校訓石碑

Our school mottos: Shoshi, Jinchi, Ryokko

Shoshi means to be ambitious. We hope that our students all have their own dreams and ambitions. Jinchi means to be considerate and bright. We want them to be kind to those around them and have common sense. Ryokko means to make great efforts toward a goal. We encourage them to be willing to work hard and to be richly emotional and sensitive.

Learning at school

学びの流れ

Students get skills and knowledge in programs that will be the foundation of their learning at a later stage. Based on those, they learn how to arrive at the solution to a problem. We nurture “a scientific point of view,” to be able to approach a task by themselves and consider the why and the how. We intentionally relate what is learned in each subject to each other in order to provide a holistic learning environment.

Expanding learning

学びの拡張性

We nurture communication skills through teaching manners, discussion, presentation, etc. Students acquire the ability to think from a scientific point of view by the many opportunities provided for getting practical experiences. We closely coordinate with nearby universities and laboratories so that students will have many chances to learn outside the classroom.

Floor Plan

計画

We arrange classrooms according to the grade and arrange teacher’s stations nearby to improve communication between students and teachers. Laboratories and IT facilities are located in one building, which is convenient for students to flexibly learn efficiently. A multi-purpose room is placed on each floor to allow teachers to vary their lesson plans and innovate new approaches in any subject.
